Improper and untimely care can affect poor root development, growth and flowering of the plant. In order to get rid of these problems, the drug Zircon was developed.

The article describes in detail what this tool is, what are its pros and cons, what it is used for, how it differs from other fertilizers, how it is applied and stored, and much more.

What it is?

Zircon is an excellent remedy for plant diseases, developed by ANO "NEST M". The preparation is based on a herbal remedy:

  • Echinacea purpurea, which has a unique supply of useful natural elements;
  • polysaccharides;
  • essential oils (0.15-0.50%);
  • hydroxycinnamic acids;
  • flavonoids;
  • tannins;
  • saponins;
  • polyamines;
  • echinacin;
  • echinolone;
  • echinacoside;
  • organic acids;
  • resin;
  • phytosterols;
  • inulin (up to 6%);
  • glucose (7%);
  • essential and fatty oils;
  • betaine;
  • phenolcarboxylic acids.

All parts of the plant contain enzymes, macro- and microelements.

The drug is produced in 1 ml polypropylene ampoules with a cap for use in the country or in room conditions, 50 ml for garden plots aimed at selling goods, also in bottles of 1000 ml for large farms. 1 ml contains 40 drops of the drug.

The strong effect of Zircon on orchids multiplies the alcohol contained in it as a preservative. It stabilizes other components, as a result of which the drug quickly penetrates into the structure of the processed flower.

What is it used for?

Zircon has an anti-fungal effect, provides and activates the formation and development of a strong root system, which is the key to health for the plant, increases the plant's resistance to adverse environmental conditions. Speeds up the budding process. Stimulates the normal metabolism of plants. Protects the plant from heat and drought.

The drug is quickly absorbed from the surface of the leaves, the stem of the flower, as well as its roots, but it moves slowly inside the flower, while the assimilation and utilization of the flower occurs in 18 hours, as a result of which the whole plant must be carefully treated with zircon.

In other words, only diligent and complete processing can help the plant, because the drug moves slowly and disintegrates quickly.

Advantages and disadvantages

Zircon is used in all periods of plant growth. It maintains plant health, activates strong flowering without harming plant health. It has a number of minor disadvantages. Its high concentration and constant use enhances plant growth, which can lead to inadequate absorption of other nutrients.

How to store?

  • Store in a dark, dry place with a temperature of up to 25 degrees.
  • The access of children and animals should be limited.
  • It is forbidden to store together with food and medicine.
  • Shelf life - 3 years from the date of manufacture of the drug.

The ready-made solution can be used no later than 3 days after production, in a dark room closed, it is recommended to add a little citric acid to the mixture.

How is it different from epin and other means?

It is important to understand that the biological product is effective, there are no artificial components in its composition, therefore it does not replace fertilizers, but complements the effect of useful components.

Zircon is compatible with other drugs, it improves their positive effect, while enhancing the result from their use. It is harmful to combine with substances that have an alkaline reaction. If various drugs are incompatible, a precipitate may form, such a mixture is useless and can be dangerous for the plant, therefore it cannot be used.

Studies of the effect of Zircon on plants have shown that after 2.5 months the effect of the growth regulator weakens. It is recommended to soak orchid cuttings in a solution of Zircon and treat them with preparations containing chelated iron. This symbiosis will provide excellent planting material.

Compatibility with other drugs

A drug Zircon
Bordeaux mixture

It is pointless to use together several growth regulators such as epin and zircon., when processing a plant, they should be alternated. So their effects on the flower are different. The methods of processing orchids also differ.

The main differences from Epin

  • Zircon has a stronger effect on root formation, better protects against viruses.
  • Epin makes plants more resistant to diseases and adverse external conditions.
  • The treatment with Zircon should be done more thoroughly, but at the same time more carefully, since its overdose can lead to the death of the plant.

Safety regulations

Zircon is not very toxic, but you still need to use rubber gloves, a mask and goggles when using it. If it gets on the skin or mucous membrane, preventive measures should be taken to avoid unpleasant consequences.

  1. In case of contact with the skin, the place of contact must be rinsed with plenty of running water.
  2. In case of damage to eyes or nasal mucosa, rinse with plenty of water (try to keep eyes open).
  3. If Zircon enters the gastrointestinal tract, induce vomiting, then drink activated charcoal and consult a doctor.

How to apply?

How to choose a dosage?

When choosing the required dose for making a solution, it is necessary to understand the aim pursued.

  • For rapid plant growth, you need to dilute 0.2 ml in one liter of water. or 8 drops of the drug.
  • In order for the orchid to pick up the buds better / take 0.1 ml. or 4 drops of Zircon and dissolve them in a liter of water.

When preparing the solution, the water temperature should be 20-25 degrees, it is recommended to use boiled water.

How to dilute?

To prepare the solution, you must take glass or enamel dishes. Do not use galvanized buckets.

Zircon is prepared on the basis of water. Stir before use until a homogeneous liquid is formed.

How to use the ready-made solution?

The biostimulant is suitable for root and overground treatment. Water the plant thoroughly before using the solution. Next, use the solution, pouring it over the orchid.

How many minutes to keep in solution?

When grafting an orchid, zircon is diluted in the following proportion: 10-20 drops of the drug are added per liter of water, cuttings are lowered into the resulting mixture for a day.

This will increase the survival rate of the cuttings, save them from decay, the appearance of mold and will speed up the process of the appearance of root primordia.

Orchid seeds are kept in a more concentrated composition of the drug, when preparing the solution, 30-40 drops are added per 1 liter, 6-8 hours.

How often should the procedure be repeated?

Preventive watering is carried out once every one and a half to two months, in case of a plant disease or a recent transplant, the watering procedure is carried out no more than once a week.

Application errors

It should be remembered that the drug is an excellent growth stimulant for orchids and overly frequent use of Zircon can lead to an increase in leaves, which significantly spoils the aesthetic appearance of the plant.

The drug itself, subject to the instructions in the process of making the mixture, does not harm the flower, but it is categorically not recommended to use it more often than the frequency and timing of watering described above.

As an alternative to Zircon, a number of other drugs can be used, such as:

  • Augustine;
  • Bona Forte;
  • Kornevin;
  • cytokinin paste.

For flower growers, Zircon is recognized as an effective means of nourishing the orchid's root system, helping in pest control, contributing to a quick recovery from illness.
