"Pink Flamingo" is a table variety. Possesses excellent taste. Fresh fruits are used for making salads, thick sauces. Unlike many large-fruited pink varieties, it is suitable for conservation as a whole and in slices, as an ingredient in winter snacks. Tomato products, tomato juice have a delicate consistency, harmonious sweetish taste, but they are inferior to products from red tomatoes in color saturation.
The Pink Flamingo tomato variety is valued for its good ripening and fruit preservation for a long time, under the right storage conditions - up to two months. Due to the density and elasticity of fruits and skins, tomatoes retain their presentation for a long time, tolerate transportation well.
The disadvantages of the variety include a tendency to cracking, demanding temperature conditions, average drought tolerance.
Sowing seeds for seedlings is carried out from mid-March to early April. Plants are planted in a permanent place from the second decade of May. Tomato variety "Pink Flamingo" is picky about the composition of the soil. For him, areas with a fertile layer of at least 30 centimeters with high aerobic indicators are suitable.
It is best if in the previous season legumes, carrots, onions, cabbage, cucumbers grew on this place.
Agronomists advise planting tomatoes in areas with soils enriched with green manure plants:
- white mustard;
- oil radish;
Siderata can be sown in spring before transferring seedlings to open ground and grown together with tomatoes. Plantings should be dense. The aboveground part of the green manure is regularly mown, preventing the seeds from ripening, and then used to mulch the soil around the bushes. The crops of green manure are regularly changed, the same species has not been planted for more than two years.
During the growing season, from 3 to 5 dressings are carried out.... Two weeks after planting the plants, ammonia and phosphate fertilizers are applied to the open ground. During the season, feeding is repeated, strengthening it with complex mineral fertilizers.
"Pink Flamingo" responds well to organic feeding from an aqueous solution of bird droppings (1:10) with the addition of ammophos or superphosphate and wood ash.
As for fertilizers, on our website you will find a lot of useful information on this topic:

"Pink flamingo" feels good in dense plantings, but for better illumination of ripening fruits, the bushes are planted according to the scheme 40x70 centimeters. Tomato is picky about watering regime... So that the plants do not get sick, it is necessary to water them with warm water. Watering should be done early in the morning or at sunset.
The bush is formed leaving one, rarely two main stems. Pinching, pinching are regularly carried out, and excess ovaries are removed. If you leave 5-6 brushes on one plant, the fruits will be larger and ripen earlier, in addition, new ovaries will form.
Diseases and pests
Thanks to the "wild" parents used by breeders in breeding the variety, "Pink Flamingo" is resistant to most diseases. But, it is prone to top rot. When the first signs of the disease appear: rusty spots, blackening of the base of the fruit, the plants are immediately fed with phosphorus-potassium fertilizers, sprinkled with wood ash.
It is very important to have an idea of such common diseases of tomatoes as alternaria, fusarium, verticillus, late blight. Also on our website you will find information about protection against late blight and about varieties that are not susceptible to this scourge.
