Question: amaryllis
I have some amaryllis bulbs that I moved to the attic with light a while ago and I suspended the water. They lost all their cravings but I see that they are popping up the new ones. Now how do I behave? do you water again? What position do they prefer? After years, last year I saw the flowers again and I can't understand how to behave with them ... thanks for the advice ... I'm waiting for your news ... give me some secrets to make them bloom every year ... thanks again ...
Answer: amaryllis
Dear Tulip,
as the bulbs are beginning to sprout again, re-plant them with fresh soil and move them to a fairly warm area of the house, watering when the soil is dry. The secret to having beautiful flowers every year is the cultivation of the leaves. The bulbs store nutrients in the bulb every year to use them the following year for flowering. These substances are produced by the plant through photosynthesis, which occurs in the leaves. So, when your amaryllis are well developed, you also supply fertilizer every fortnight, and cultivate the leaves until they begin to dry on their own, only then recidile and stop watering the bulb, and place it in a cool place until 'next year.
