The bush is of an indeterminate type, it can reach a height of 1.9-2.1 meters, it requires obligatory tying to a vertical support, as it is very high and can lie under its own weight. Shows the best yield when forming a bush with 1-2 stems... Read about determinant varieties here.
In terms of ripening, the Batianya tomato variety is classified as early-ripening. It takes 96-105 days from the emergence of seedlings planted on seedlings to the collection of the first ripe tomatoes. Differs in a long period of fruiting, resistance to late blight disease.

Advantages and disadvantages
Batyan's tomatoes have a number of generally recognized advantages.:
- fast ripening times;
- great taste of ripe tomatoes;
- large fruit size;
- high productivity;
- good safety during transportation;
- undemanding to weather conditions;
- resistance to late blight.
As for the shortcomings, here we can note the need to tie up the bush and brushes, in order to avoid lodging and breaks under the weight of the formed fruits.
Growing features
Particular attention should be paid to the quality of the seeds and the preparation of the soil for planting seedlings. When buying tomato seeds, pay attention to the following data printed on the package:
- information about the variety and characteristics of agricultural technology;
- the number of seeds in the package;
- seed germination as a percentage, when specifying 100%, it is better not to acquire, this is an obvious deception;
- the sign of the readiness of the seeds for planting will be the inscription: "Do not pickle seeds", this was done by the seller;
- if there is no inscription about etching, treat the seeds with a 2-3% solution of potassium permanganate.
When preparing land for growing seedlings, special attention to the following conditions:
- the soil should be well-drained so that water does not stagnate at the roots of the seedlings;
- it is good to take the land on which zucchini, dill, parsley, carrots were previously grown;
- fertilize the land by applying complex fertilizers, if this is not possible, add wood ash.
As fertilizers for tomatoes are used: organic matter, mineral complexes, yeast, iodine, hydrogen peroxide, ammonia, boric acid, ash.
Seeds are sown into a prepared container, with embedding them to a depth of 2.0-2.5 centimeters. Watering is carried out with water at room temperature... When 2-3 leaves appear, pick the seedlings, paying attention to the appearance.
Some gardeners report yellowing of the lower leaves of the seedlings. This indicates a lack of trace elements in seedlings feeding. A pick will help you solve certain problems.:
- Selection of the strongest seedlings. When picking, remove weak plants.
- The seedlings will stop stretching as the transplant slows down the growth of the plant.
- After the pick, the root system develops more actively, the growth of lateral roots increases.
After the end of the night cold snap season, the ground warms up to 14-16 degrees Celsius, the seedlings can be planted in the ground. A week before planting, it is better to harden the seedlings by placing them in the open air in the daytime. Before placing the seedlings in the holes, you can add fertilizing with complex mineral fertilizer or add a handful of crushed eggshells.
The appearance of yellowness on seedlings can be due to several reasons.:
- Lack of trace elements - nitrogen, zinc, iron, potassium. Feeding with complex preparations containing these microelements will help. For example "Effecton", "Agricola - Forward" or simple, well-known superphosphate.
- Damage to the roots during picking or a change in the temperature regime leads to yellowing of the lower leaves. No additional steps are required. After 3-4 days, the seedling will cope with the problem on its own.
- Yellowness can appear with a lack of lighting or a small amount of soil in the root coma of the plant. Try transplanting into a large container or increasing the light on the seedlings.
After transferring the seedlings to the prepared holes, further care consists in timely watering with warm water, tying the plant to a support or trellis, removing weeds and stepchildren. Mulching can help control weeds.
It is also necessary to periodically loosen the soil in the holes and 2-3 times feeding during the period of growth and formation of fruits on the bushes.
Diseases and pests
The variety is considered disease resistant. However, information about the most common diseases of tomatoes in greenhouses and measures to combat them will not be superfluous.
Most often, tomatoes are threatened by:
- Alternaria.
