Dear Valter,
the beautiful red berries of nandina can be slightly toxic, but to give effects of some kind they should be eaten in large quantities, which is quite unlikely, also because they do not taste good. They could be damage to an unfortunate kitten who tasted 4-5, or for a hamster.
