Early maturing potato varieties are highly valued both by ordinary gardeners who grow vegetables for their own needs, and by large producers in different countries.
Special attention should be paid to varieties that, in addition to early ripening, are distinguished by high resistance to diseases, the ability to adapt to weather conditions and high taste.
One of these varieties is the Impala potato variety, which has proven itself exclusively on the positive side.

Characteristics
The Impala variety is a table potato variety, which began to be developed in Holland (Netherlands). In recent decades, it has become very popular in Russia. Cultivation is widespread mainly in the middle lane and southern regions.
Main characteristics of Impala potatoes:
Early maturity... Impala is an early-maturing potato that can be harvested for the first time 45 days after planting. Full maturation of tubers occurs 60-75 days (depending on the climate).
Yield... Impala is highly regarded for its high and stable yields. The average number of tubers from one bush reaches 15, but with proper care of the plantation, the number of tubers can increase to 17-21. From 1 hectare of land can be harvested from 37 to 60 tons per season (in the southern regions, it is possible to collect two crops).
The yields of other potato varieties are shown in the table below:
Variety name | Yield |
Santa | up to 570 c / ha |
Tuleyevsky | 400-500 c / ha |
Gingerbread man | 450-600 c / ha |
Ilyinsky | 180-350 c / ha |
knapweed | 200-480 c / ha |
Laura | 330-510 c / ha |
Irbit | up to 500 c / ha |
Sineglazka | up to 500 c / ha |
Adretta | up to 450 c / ha |
Alvara | 295-440 c / ha |
Drought tolerance... This potato variety can adapt to any weather conditions, both drought and high humidity.
Demanding soil... Planting and growing potatoes of this variety can be done in absolutely any type of soil, but potatoes grown in the open field have the best performance.
Using... Suitable for both consumption and long-term storage.
It should be noted that Impala has a truly unique preservation - the marketability of tubers with a sufficiently long storage is 100%!
In the table below you will find keeping rates for comparing Impala potatoes with other varieties:

Taste qualities... Evaluating taste on a five-point scale, the Impala potatoes deserve a 4.9 mark. Undergoing heat treatment, the tubers remain dense, retain their color (do not darken), and the friability is low.
Resistance to mechanical damage... The value of the Impala variety is also due to its high resistance to mechanical damage. After harvesting, up to 98% of tubers retain their original appearance.
The height of the Impala potato bush reaches 70-75 cm. The plant stands upright and is formed by 4-5 stems, which makes the bush very dense. During flowering, flowers of a snow-white shade are formed. Leaves are rich green, medium in size, smooth with a slight wave around the edge.
