Question: benjamina
my brother-in-law has pruned his banjamina, I have picked some branches and put them in a bucket with water, I would like to plant them, but someone told me that the roots must hunt them in the water, what should I do?
Answer: benjamina
Gentile Cinzia,
the ficus tend to root quite easily, especially if they are apical cuttings, therefore those removed from the tops of each individual branch, and it is not necessary to root them in water. So you can take the branches you are keeping in the water, and from every apex remove 5-8 cm long twigs, cutting them just below the last leaf. Then remove the leaf, pass the twig in warm water (to stop the latex from escaping), pass over the rooting hormone and immerse it in a good light soil. Some cuttings are often prepared, since they are not always rooted with certainty.
