This tree is very old and comes from Korea. Thanks to his resistance qualities, however, he was able to develop very well in Europe too. Buy it only if you have enough space available, because it reaches rather large dimensions. Its ideal arrangement is in a very sunny area and at the same time sheltered from the action of the wind, since the flowers could be affected. Keep in mind that it suffers from low temperatures and seasonal frosts. It does not require special care, except a regular morning watering and specific attention to the first buds, which must be treated with extreme delicacy. Another classic tree, almost always present in the gardens, is the apple tree. Even though it is a small shrub, in full adult maturity it reaches over five meters in height. To check its state of health, it is good to observe the leaves, which must be bright green and without imperfections, forming a luxuriant crown with a rounded shape. At the end of the winter season, flowering occurs, characterized by typical star-shaped bunches in shades of red and dark pink. From them, in the summer season, fruits will be born. You will have to have a little patience because in the early years these will not exceed the size of a plum, but they will still be very decorative. Generally, before they become edible, it will take two or three years. If you choose the flowering apple tree, its fruits will be woody and hard. They are also used to make the characteristic recipe for cider or various other liqueurs. Choosing an apple tree also has another advantage: being self-fertile, just place it next to another specimen of the same species so that it multiplies. Like Magnolia, it needs a large and sunny place.
Walnut and Fir
If you want a very tall and impressive tree for the garden, choose the one of Noce, which reaches heights of thirty meters and is one of the most long-lived. Widespread throughout the world, it has a luxuriant crown and a massive trunk, which takes on a reddish color as the bark ages. The flowering, characterized by spike-shaped elements, occurs in the spring season, while to wait for the fruits you will have to wait until autumn, but it will certainly be worth it. However, you will have to be very patient as a Walnut can produce a fair amount of fruit only after about fifteen years. Equally majestic is the Fir, to be planted in sunny areas. It is a tree that still resists even very harsh climates. If you live in a geographical area with intense heat, it will be better to place it in an area partially covered by shade. It does not require special care, being rustic by nature. The only care is to sow it in spring, in a well moistened soil and at a great depth, since the roots are really majestic and develop quickly and invasively. Also for this reason it is better not to keep it near any kind of foundation.
Garden trees: Garden climbing trees
If you need strong and resistant trees, choose climbing trees, which also act as dividing elements and hedges. The garden climbing tree par excellence is certainly the ancient Lauro, which reaches important heights, giving pleasant shaded areas. It can however grow in an isolated manner. It needs ample soil to be able to develop in all its grandeur, above all of the foliage, of a beautiful whitish color and with flowers in the shape of an ear, present in spring, a period in which you will also provide for its planting. Another valid choice is the Ameliancher, very appreciated for the nesting of small birds. It has a slender, slender bark with an original decorative effect. It has rounded leaves in the shades of forest green and in the autumn season gives perfumed white flowers. It reaches five meters in height and resists well both in the sun and in a half-shaded area. The Ovalis variety, on the other hand, has leaves that in the autumnal season assume multicolored scarlet shades. In addition to the classic flowering, this species adds small purple berries, delicious food for birds. The Ovalis also prefers a half-shade arrangement and requires fertile land, as well as sufficient irrigation. If you need a climbing tree that has a lower height than the previous ones, opt for the Lonicera Nitida, an evergreen that does not exceed one meter and is ideal for fast-setting hedges, because it develops very quickly. Native to Asia, it needs a large amount of water and a well-drained soil. The perfect location is in the sun.
